715 Series: The Spine Stealers

The Spine Stealers emerged from putting poems to guitar chords while learning to play during the pandemic. The songs, used as a way to alchemize songwriter Emma O’Shea’s own melancholy, saw other eyes at a late night open mic in July of 2022 and pushed the project to begin playing shows. In the past three years, the rough-edged, haunting folk songs have evolved with a consistent variation of instrumental arrangement, a devotion to touring and a steady stream of songwriting. The Spine Stealers have built a devoted regional following in the Midwest that continues to expand nationally as they tour constantly, record throughout the year and print teeshirts in garages. The project has shared the stages with artists including Basia Bulat, The Last Revel, Angela Autumn, Chaparelle, Charlie Parr.
